Timothy Zgleszewski, MD
“Being a former patient with a lot of the same complaints as my patients gives me an extra edge and advantage.”
Approach
Dr. Z approaches pain treatment for the spine and musculoskeletal system by first determining an accurate diagnosis. His personal experience with back pain informs thoughtful questions and careful listening to a patient’s experience. From there, Dr. Z can prescribe traditional interventional pain procedures as well as innovative regenerative medicine therapies, such as orthobiologic regenerative injection therapies.
Procedural Skills
Dr. Z has experience in percutaneous spinal procedures, including epidural steroid injections, facet nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablation. He also is skilled in interventional regenerative medicine like platelet rich plasma (PRP), neural prolotherapy, and visco-supplementation injections.
Credentials
Dr. Z received his medical doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent residencies in General Surgery and then Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also completed a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Pain Medicine. Dr. Z has spoken at professional conferences on pain management topics, such as “Cutting-Edge Musculoskeletal Treatments: No Knife Required” and “BiowavePRO: Neuro-modulation Pain Therapy.”

Gerald Brown, FNP, MSN, RN
“If you love what you do and feel like you make a difference, it doesn’t seem like work.”
Approach:
For Nurse Practitioner Brown, low and slow is the best approach. “We talk to the patient and look at the relevant history and the treatments previously used,” he says. “While some patients might expect the same treatments as they’ve had elsewhere, we prefer treating each patient individually and determining a treatment path from there.” Treating everyone with respect is his practice as Brown believes that “Patients know when they haven’t had your full attention.” One important part of the approach is having up-to-date diagnostic information in hand. “Recent imaging is important, such as an MRI within the last two years,” Brown says.
Professional Highlights:
Brown earned his undergraduate degree as a registered nurse at Greenville Technical College in 2010. He graduated cum laude in the Master of Science in nursing (MSN) program as a family nurse practitioner from Clemson University in 2013. After graduating with his nursing degrees, Brown worked in family practice until moving to pain management.
Personal Notes:
Gerald enjoys reading and bowling. When he’s not engaged in play with his seven grandkids, he’s taking a well-deserved rest.
