Julian Naranjo, MD
“Everyone is talking about the prevention of certain diseases, like diabetes or hypertension, but you never hear about pain prevention.”
Dr. Naranjo noticed that even after successful surgery, some patients still suffered pain, and pain management seemed to offer a solution. However, it was after his own bout with severe back pain that he became more aware of the need to treat the different aspects of pain rather than expecting a single intervention to address everything. Dr. Naranjo applied all the principles he knew about pain management to himself. “Changing behaviors and lifestyle choices was my focus, and it made me aware that there are many tools available,” he says. It was a six-month process, but he recovered fully without the need for surgery or other procedures.
Approach
Dr. Naranjo uses a conservative approach to patient care without denying the patient sophisticated interventional techniques when indicated. Dr. Naranjo offers advanced modalities including Spinal Cord Stimulation, Intrathecal Delivery Systems for the management of cancer pain, Peripheral Nerve Stimulation, Radiofrequency Ablation, Re-generative Therapies, Discography, and selective diagnostic procedures determine to identify pain generators.
